General Info

Tucked along Rue Grand'Rue 254 in Trooz, Taverne De Trooz feels like the kind of place you stumble upon once-and then keep coming back to. The setting is simple and welcoming, with a relaxed diner-style atmosphere that makes it easy to settle in, whether you’re stopping by for a quiet dinner or meeting friends over a good bottle of wine.

From the moment you walk in, the vibe is unpretentious yet warm. The staff keeps things smooth and friendly, and the service flows naturally without feeling rushed. Dinner here is clearly the main event, and the menu reflects that with a focus on hearty, satisfying dishes that pair beautifully with their wine selection. It’s the kind of spot where you take your time, enjoy each course, and maybe linger a little longer than planned.

One standout that absolutely deserves attention is the Triple Val Dieu. This dish captures the essence of the kitchen-rich, balanced, and full of character. It’s not just something you order; it’s something you remember. The flavors are layered in a way that feels both comforting and a little indulgent, especially when paired with a well-chosen glass of wine from their list. If you’re browsing reviews or planning your first visit, this is the item that keeps coming up for good reason.

Beyond the food itself, the services offered add to the overall ease of the experience. Payments are hassle-free with both credit cards and debit cards accepted, which is always a plus. For those planning something special, catering is also available, making it a flexible choice for gatherings or small events. It’s clear that the restaurant is designed not just for casual visits, but also for moments worth celebrating.

What really stands out, though, is how everything comes together-the menu, the setting, and the consistent quality. It doesn’t try too hard, and that’s exactly its charm. Whether you’re checking out new locations in the area or relying on trusted reviews to guide your next meal, this spot delivers a genuinely enjoyable experience that feels both personal and reliable.

What customers say?

“ Really lovely local place with good food and beer selection. Think very Walloon dishes and a penchant for local craft beer in a cafe/brasserie setting. We tried the boulettes, sole “a la mode du chef”, the beef liver and the prawn “feuilleté”, all of which are very good. To finish, make sure you get the “pipe ardennaise”. It’s like a lovely shot of really creamy Irish coffee you drink from a little contraption... perfect way to end the dinner! ”

“ Second visit to the Taverne de Trooz. We started with a draft beer, the Aiglon. A refreshing, lightly hopped beer with a hint of lemon on the finish. For our main courses, we chose kidneys Liège-style and mussels in a cream and garlic sauce. The kidneys were whole and perfectly cooked. The mussels were also delicious. To finish, we had a white wine sabayon and an Irish Coffee. Both were excellent. A very enjoyable experience! ”

“ What an authentic place! The owner and his family team are very welcoming. Here, the beer flows freely, perfectly complementing the delicious and generously portioned dishes. The tavern's vintage enamel signs add to the charm of this delightful experience. ”

“ Good selection of beers on tap and a nice brewery menu. It's homemade and very good! ”

“ The HQ for everyone who knows how to eat and have fun! A quick photo recap of some moments there... ”

- Rachel Disbechl -

“ I came to eat this Saturday, August 3rd, with my partner. I ordered the homemade steak tartare, and she ordered the homemade cheeseburger. It was excellent, high-quality food, and everything is homemade, right down to the mayonnaise. The owner and all the staff are friendly. I'll definitely be back and will return very soon. ”

“ A wonderful discovery. A warm welcome and setting Extraordinary cuisine, with a perfectly tender beef for me tonight Great atmosphere Thank you and see you soon ”

“ We ate very well. We are a couple with an 8-year-old child. I find it a shame that no children's menu is offered. In the end, we had to order him an adult-sized hamburger, and he didn't even eat a quarter of it. The menu is only available on large slates, given the proximity between the tables (at most 30 cm). A paper menu or a placemat would be easier for the customer. But other than that, we ate really well, and the portions were more than adequate. I forgot there's no drinks menu, so if you order an aperitif, expect to be surprised by the price. ”
